Naina, Birdie Boro win sub junior titles

Naina (AP) and Birdie Boro won the Sub Junior Girls and Boys titles at the North Zone National Table Tennis Ranking tournament being held at Srinagar.

Earlier, S Selena Deepthi and Akash Nath had won the Cadet Girls and Boys titles.

Kishikawa bags Japan Open title

Seiya Kishikawa beat his more famed rival, Jun Mizutani to win the Kobe Pro tour title. Kishikawa won 4-1.

Feng Tianwei won the women's title by comprehensively beating Ai Fukahara 4-0.

The highlight of the tournament was a spate of upsets in the initial rounds with a record number of seeds being shown the door in the Men's singles 1st rounds.

Sharath Kamal will play for Werder Bremen TTC this season

India's Star TT player, Achanta Sharath Kamal will represent the Werder Bremen club this season, which starts in September. In his first season in Germany last year, he played for TSV Gräfelfing. Sharath had an impressive record last year but his team mates perfomances left a lot to be desired.

At Werder Bremen TTC, he will get support from Adrian Crisan, Jens Lundquist and Cioti and have chances to advance in the European leagues.

Live US Open Table Tennis Results and Updates

The Indian Junior Boys and Girls teams won the team titles at the US Open at Milwaukee!! While the Indian A team beat Wang Hui club -2 in the finals, the Girls team beat their compatriots, India B to bag the title.
Lalrin Puia won the Boy's U-13 title. K Spoorthy lost in the finals of the Girl's section.
 
Manika Batra won the Junior Girls title beating Reeth Rishya 3-2 in the finals.
Harmeet Desai won the Junior Boys crown beating Yang Liang in the finals 3-2.

Peter Karlsson at Indore to train Indian Table Tennis prospects

Peter Karlsson is in Indore to conduct a special training camp for Indian juniors. The training is being conducted by TTFI and Madhya Pradesh Table Tennis Associations at the World Class Abhay Prashal Stadium. The camp will go on for a week. A total of 10 coaches and 72 players are involved in this program. The sessions will be done on 24 tables consecutively. Karlsson was in Pune recently, where he conducted similar sessions.

Karlsson in a former European and World Champion. He is the brand ambassador of Stag, a sports goods manufacturer.


Karlsson praised the recent performance of Indian juniors and he thinks that Indian players can go a long way.

Tamil Nadu State Ranking and Inter district championships at Dindigul

The PSNA College’s fourth Tamil Nadu State ranking table tennis tournament and inter-district championships will be organised by the Dindigul District TTA at the PSNA College of Engineering and Technology Sports Complex, Dindigul.

The State-ranking tournament will be held from June 30 to July 1, the inter-district tournament will be held on July 2 and 3.

Manika Batra captured a nice double, but was surprisingly beaten by Nikita Rautela in the Women's singles final at the Lava open and Delhi State Ranking TT tournament. 
Pranshu Gupta also won two titles - the prestigious Men's title and the Youth Boy's title.

Manav Thakkar bags terrific triple

Manav Thakkar won an amazing triple crown at recently held 1st Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at the Sarita Sagar Sports Sankul.

He won the Cadet, Sub Junior, and Junior titles.

Hardik Bhatt won the prestigious Men's singles title beating Ravi Joshi in the finals.

Noel is the star of Dombivli; Shweta continues domination


Noel Pinto scored a memorable double at the 2nd Maharashtra State Ranking tournament at Dombivli 2011. In the Youth finals, he beat the sensation of the Deccan Gymkhana tournament, Sanmay Paranjape and in the Men's finals, he beat experienced Eric Fernandes. He displayed his percentage game in good measure in beating his more fancied rivals.

Shweta won a double in the Women's and Youth girls singles to continue her domination this season.
