Ariel Hsing hopes to retain title at North American Cup

Ariel Hsing of USA will attempt to retain her title at the ITTF-North American Cup Table Tennis Tournament to be held at Mississauga, Canada. Her main rival will be Zhang Mo, whom she beat in the finals last year.

In the Men's section, Pierre-Luc Hinse, Timothy Wang from the United States and André Ho will battle for the honours. Incidentally, all three qualified from the North America zone for the Olympics.

Ariel, Lily, Timothy Wang, Andre Ho, Pierre-luc Hinse qualify for the Olympics (Table Tennis)

Table Tennis players Ariel Hsing, Lily Zhang, Timothy Wang of USA along with Andre Ho and Pierre-Luc Hinse of Canada qualified for the London Olympics 2012. 

Incidentally, Ariel, Lily, and Tim all play at Rajul Sheth's ICC at Milpitas, CA.

US Table Tennis Olympic Trials 2012

Table Tennis legend Gao Jun led the Women's trials table with 11-0, while Michael Landers topped the Men's trials with 9-2. The amazing thing is that Jun is 43 years old and still going strong!
Gao Jun is a medallist at the Olympic games. She moved to the USA in 1994 from her native China.

US performance in the World Table Tennis Championships 2011 at Rotterdam

The US team could not shine in the WTTC at Rotterdam.

Zhang Lily and Ariel Hsing, US's best hopes lost in the first round of the main draw in the Women's singles competition. Earlier, they topped their qualifying groups and also won through the elimination rounds.

None of the Men players made it to the main draw of the singles competition.

Results of the Main draw:
Ariel Hsing lost to Ni Xia Lian (LUX) 3-11, 11-13, 9-11 and 7-11

Zhang Lily lost to VACENOVSKA Iveta 11-13,7-11,3-11,11-2,0-11

The trials for the US teams for Pan Am and National team were conducted at the Topspin club, San Jose, CA

The following players made the final cut:

Pan Am Team Women: Ariel Hsing, Lily Zhang, Erica Wu

World Team Men: Mark Hazinski, Yiyong Fan, Timothy Wang, Adam Hugh
World Team Women: Ariel Hsing, Lily Zhang, Erica Wu, Prachi Jha

Ariel Hsing is the Youngest ever US Table Tennis Champ


Ariel Hsing became the youngest ever US Table Tennis Champion. She beat Lily Zhang in the finals. Ariel also won the U-21 Women's title.

Titles in the junior and cadet girls was the consolation for Lily Zhang.

Both Ariel and Lily train at Rajul Seth's ICC at Milpitas, California. Timothy Wang, the Men's Champion from Texas also attends camps and private training sessions at the ICC.
