The 2011 edition of the West Zone TT tourney starts today. Top players in the country are expected to participate. The tournament will go on from 8th to 13th October 2011.

Chinese National Table Tennis Championships 2011 at Jiangsu

The 2011 Chinese Nationals will be held at Jiangsu from 5th to 13th October. Many of the top players, including the world's No. 1 will be participating in it.

The National Championship will assume a lot of significance since the London Olympics is just around the corner.

M Y Choi and A Du win Australian Junior titles

M Y Choi and A Du won the Boys and Girls U 18 titles at the Australian Junior Table Tennis Championships.

Both the top seeds in the respective sections could not stop Choi and Du from winning the prestigious titles. Incidentally, Boy's top seed, Heming Hu just recently won the Michael Szabados Award for being the Junior Player of the year.

India dominates Table Tennis competition at Dehradun

Soumyajit Ghosh aka Royal Bengal Tiger
India stole the limelight at the ONGC 2011 Indian Junior & Cadet Open - ITTF Premium Junior Circuit Table Tennis tournament,28 Sep 2011 - 02 Oct 2011, Dehradun, India.


Soumyajit aka Royal Bengal Tiger was the star of the show. He claimed the Junior Boys Singles and Doubles titles. 
India's only major loss was the Junior Girls title, where pint-sized Thailand's Pannak Piyaporn beat India's formidable Mallika Bhandarkar and Ankita Das to win the title.

G Sathiyan won both his matches as India B beat formidable India A in both the Boys and Girls section of the ONGC 2011 Indian Junior & Cadet Open - ITTF Premium Junior Circuit at Dehradun India.

The boys had to toil while winning 3-2 but it was smooth sailing for the girls as they beat the A team 3-0. 

Sathiyan beat Harmeet Desai and then Soumyajit Ghosh. Sourav Saha pulled off an unexpected 3-1 victory over Harmeet Desai in the deciding rubber.

Ankita Das and Reeth Tennison won both their singles against Mallika Bhandarkar and in-form Manika Batra and then combined to clinch the doubles and the prestigious trophy.
