Liu Shiwen wins World Table Tennis Cup; equals record held by Zhang Yining and Wang Nan

Liu Shiwen won the World Women's Cup of Table Tennis at Sendai by beating Kasumi Ishikawa of the host nation in straight sets. By winning the title again, she equaled the record that is held by Wang Nan and Zhang Yining.

Shiwen beat Ishikawa in straight sets, in a match that saw Ishikawa overawed by the occasion of her first major final.

In one of the most sensational results at the quarter final stage, Petrissa Solja had beaten local superstar, Ai Fukuhara 4-3 coming back from the dead from 0-3 down, and deuce in the fourth.

Jammu and Kashmir State Inter District Table Tennis Championship

The 37th Jammu and Kashmir State Inter-District Table Tennis Championship is currently going on at the Indoor Complex, MA Stadium. Players from all over Jammu and Kashmir are participating in the prestigious tournament.

The tournament is being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Table Tennis Association (JKTTA).

SK Sharma, Executive Director Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Northern Region-II, inaugurated the tournament. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited is a sponsor of the tournament.

Odhisha State Ranking Table Tennis tournament at Bhubaneshwar

The All Odisha Ranking Table Tennis Tournament will be held at the Shaeed Nagar Indoor hall at Bhubaneshwar from 31st. The tournament will be hosted by the Khurda District Table Tennis Association.

Competitions will be held in all the major age groups and senior categories. Doubles competition will also be held for boys and Men's categories.

Manushree bags triple crown in Singles at Table Tennis State Championships

Manushree Patil of Mumbai Suburban District won three titles at the Table Tennis State Championships at Balewadi.

She beat Swastika Ghosh, Ashlesha Trehan, and Shruti Amrute in the Sub Junior, Junior and Youth girls singles.

Ravindra Kotiyan and Divya Mahajan won the Men's and Women's singles titles while local boy Chinmay Datar won the Youth Boy's crown besides finishing runner up in the Men's singles.

Ma Long, Ding Ning top seeds at the Polish World Tour Table Tennis tournament at Warsaw


The GAC Group 2015 ITTF World Tour, Polish Open (Major), will be held from 21 Oct 2015 - 25 Oct 2015 at Warsaw, Poland.

The tournament assumes importance as it will be an important opportunity for players to qualify for the prestigious, season-ending Grand finals.

World Champion and World No. 1 is the top seed in the Men's section while Ding Ning is heading the seeding list on the Women's side.

Other stars who are participating are Xu Xin, Fan Zhendong, Zhang Jike, Mizutani, Ovtcharov, Liu Shiwen, Zhu Yuling, Li Xiaoxia, Ai Fukuhara and others.

Chandigarh State Table Tennis Championships at Sector 23

The Chandigarh State Table Tennis Championships will run from October 24 to 27, 2015 at the Table Tennis hall located at Sector 23.

Competitions will be held in the Junior, Youth, and Senior categories (Mens and Womens).

The main trophy will be in memory of Sardar Gurmeet Singh Grewal.

Amalraj, Mouma are West Zone Table Tennis Champions


A Amalraj and Mouma Das bagged the Men's and Women's titles at the West Zone National Table Tennis championships at Thane. In the finals, they beat G Sathiyan and Manika Batra respectively in nail biting finishes that went down to the wire.

West Zone National Ranking Table Tennis tournament at Thane

Thane is playing host to the Mayor's Cup West Zone National Table Tennis tournament at the Dadoji Kondeo stadium from October 14 to 19.

Many of the leading international players are expected to participate in the tournament which carries points for Indian national Table tennis ranking.

Around 800 to 900 players are expected to compete for titles in different age groups. Cash prizes of over 500 000 are on offer.
