The toughest competition in Table Tennis on the planet is on.
Zhejiang, led by Olympic Champion, Ma Lin won against Bazhou in the first leg of the Chinese Table Tennis Super League Finals.
Ma Lin lost against the super talented Xu Xin, but Zhejiang scraped through 3-2 by winning the decider when Xu Hui beat Li Ping.

Ping pong ball size to increase?
In an interview during the Harmony China Open Table Tennis tournament, the ITTF President, Adham Sharara made some interesting comments:
- The ball will now be celluloid free and will be seam-free.
- The ball size is likely to be increased. To 44mm?
- Sharara is keen to have the World Championships 2015 at Suzhou.

Timo chooses to stay with Borussia Dusseldorf. He signed a contract to be with them until 2014. Sergei Ivanov, President of Orenburg, had offered him a contract after the end of ECL's last season.

The September World rankings have been released for 2011 and the big mover is Ma Long from No. 5 to No. 2. Wang Hao continues to lead the rankings. Guo Yan moves up from No. 4 to No. 2 while Li Xiaoxia stays at the top in the Women's category.

British Premier League 2011 starts on September 10th
The British League Premier Division Round One kicks off on 10th Sep 2011 at St Neots TTC, Riversmead.
With Paul Drinkhall, Darius Knight, and Gavin Rumgay in the thick of their preparation for the London Olympics, Drumchapel Glasgow are the firm favourites.
Drumchapel Glasgow have the very successful Ryan Jenkins and Chris Doran in their ranks. Gareth Herbert, Terry Young, Craig Howieson and Stephen Jenkins make it to the team. Craig Hardie, Richard Main and Scott Barton are the reserves.
Jakov Krivic of Croatia is the main hope for defending champs, Barrow along with Bradley Evans, Jonathan Crawford, Paul Cicchelli and Scott Crawford.
Fusion, last year’s third place finishers have Sule Olaleye joined by Omkar Torgalkar (who moved from Sycamore) at no. 2, Lorestas Trumpauskas (the Mens Over 40s Doubles Champion at the 2011 European Veterans Championships) and Kazeem Adisa Adekeke. England no. 25 Mark Smith and England no. 48 Tommy Cutler will lend support.
10 times Champions London Progress, have Po Huang “Barry” Chen Jason Sugrue. Igor Morais, Daniel Basterfield, Ashley Willetts make up their team.
