Timo stars for Borussia in the first leg of the European Champions League

Sharath Kamal is nursing an injury but his team, Borussia Dusseldorf won the first leg of the European Champions League 3-1. The hero was Timo Boll who beat Ovtcharov and Samsonov.

Sharath Kamal, Timo, Franziska to face Chartres in the ECL semis

India's pride Sharath's team Borussia Düsseldorf plays the second semifinals of the prestigious European Champions League today at 4:30 PM India time (1 PM local time).

They are expected to face stiff competition from the top French team Chartres, who have Gao Ning, Robert Gardos and Par Gerell. In the first leg of the semifinals, Borussia Dusseldorf had won 3-1, but both Sharath and Gao Ning were unable to play due to their Asian Cup matches at Jaipur.

Sharath created magic with wins over top world class players at Jaipur.

Switch on your connections and watch Sharath Kamal's team in action at the Champions League. It's Borussia Düsseldorf vs Chartres (Tennis de Table France). The tie starts at 10:30 PM India time and 7 PM Germany time.

Sharath's team consists of Timo Boll, Patrick Baum, Ricardo Walther, and Christian Suss. Chartres has Gao Ning, Garell, Gardos and Damien. It remains to be seen who actually plays. 


Update: Borussia suffered a shock defeat, partly due to Timo Boll coming back from an injury. However, Sharath gave a great account of himself against the World class Gao Ning.

Timo, Sharath ensure win in the opening tie of the Bundesliga Table Tennis league

Timo Boll, Achanta Sharath Kamal, and Patrick Baum ensured that Borussia Dusseldorf collected their first win in the opening tie of the Bundesliga (German Table Tennis league).

Sharath Kamal provided the crucial point for Dusseldorf after Baum suffered an upset at the hands of Gacina of TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau. Timo Boll did the rest by winning two rubbers.

Just when you thought that Sharath was done playing with the cream of World Table Tennis, he had a go at Timo Boll a couple of days back. If you tickle your memory, you will remember that he just played Ma Lin at the Hungarian Pro Tour just recently.

Unfortunately, Sharath lost 8-11, 9-11, 8-11 to the ever-consistent and huge star from Germany. Sharath plays for SV Werder Bremen and Timo plays for Borussia Dusseldorf.

Sharath ends German League season on a high

Sharath Kamal ended his first season in the Premium division of the German league table tennis on a high by winning both his matches against the top team of the league, Borussia Dusseldorf. However, Sharath's team mates at TSV Grafelfing could not grab the other rubber required to clinch the tie.
TSV Grafelfing finished 9th in the league. The astounding part of the achievement by Sharath was that he won 9 out of the 10 matches that his team managed to win against their top notch achievements. The only other win was in the doubles by Nico Christian and Gabriel Stephan.
