Yasaka Mark V Table Tennis Rubber

A new generation blade, Butterfly ZLF with Donic Coppa Gold and Yasaka Rakza
Many Table Tennis players, especially those who are making a comeback after several years, try to search for Yasaka Mark V Table Tennis rubbers but face difficulty in finding them. The reasons are quite a few, important among which are the fact that Table Tennis has now evolved and the technology has changed to keep pace with the rules (bigger ball, shorter game).

As a result, the game has become faster and one needs to possess equipment which guarantees Speed and Spin. This is where Yasaka Mark V falters in our opinion. Although it is a rubber that stood the test of time and was one of the biggest selling rubbers ever, it is not capable of serving one in today's competitive environment.

This is where the new generation rubbers step in. Chief among the new gen rubbers were the first movers such as Donic Coppa Gold, Donic Sonex JP Gold, Donic JO Platin. There are also a whole host of rubbers alternatives from Tibhar and others. Yasaka company has worked on the rubber technology and come up with the Rakza series.

If you are planning to make a comeback or upgrade from the older generation rubbers to the new ones, do write a mail to editor@tabletennisbug.com or contact +919822749251

Zhang Jike is the World Champion again!

World Champion!

Zhang Jike beat Wang Hao in the fourth major tournament (World Championships 2011, World Cup 2011, Olympics 2012, World Championships 2013). At Paris, the score yesterday was 4-2 (11-7, 11-8, 6-11, 14-12, 5-11, 11-7).

A few years back, he was sent back from the Chinese National Ping Pong team by Liu Guoliang and relegated to the provincial team. He almost thought of quitting. But backed by his fiercely determined dad, he came back to the National team and then did the impossible. Well, he still is, because he is just 25!

Ladies and Gentleman, please put your hands together for Mr. Zhang Jike, the man who thrives on pressure. The big stage brings out the best out of him.

Indian Table Tennis stars advance to the Preliminary rounds

Good news! At the Paris World Table Tennis Championships, most Indian players topped the grueling qualifying group action, young guns Soumyajit Ghosh, Sanil Shetty, Harmeet Desai advanced. Also advancing to the Preliminary rounds were Shamini, Mouma, Neha, and Madhurika.

It takes a massive amount of effort to win through and even reach the main draw of 128 players. Best of seven group matches followed by best of seven preliminary rounds. So, a player who hopes to win the Championship via the qualifying route has to win much more than 10 rounds!!! This is the reason Jorg Rosskopf, the coach of the German team feels that the World Championships are tougher than the Olympic competition for Table Tennis.

India's Sharath Kamal is already directly seeded into the main draw, where he is expected to meet Timo Boll in the 2nd round.

Indian Men reach finals of the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships

Great news for Indian Table Tennis!

India reached the finals after winning against England in a close encounter in the semi finals of the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships at Delhi 3-2. The Indian women, however, were unlucky against England and lost 2-3.

Soumyajit Ghosh, already taking on huge International responsibilities and delivering!

Soumyajit was the hero of the day for India at the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships at Delhi. He beat experienced Andrew Baggaley and Sam Walker to give India two wins. India made it to the finals, where they play a strong Singapore team.

Soumyajit plays fearlessly and one hopes he does the same against the mighty Singapore team. He had beaten very high ranked players and helped India win a medal at the World Junior Championships in the recent years.

Indian Women advance to semi final stage at Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships

Neha Agarwal and Mouma Das played some outstanding Table Tennis for India in the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships at New Delhi. Neha beat Yihan Zhou, ranked 91, while Mouma Das gave a tremendous fight to World No. 4 and Star player of Singapore, Feng Tianwei (losing in the deciding game). India however, managed to beat the other teams, Scotland and Wales to advance to the semi finals where they meet England.

With the kind of form they have shown in the 1st and 2nd stage league matches, they have a realistic chance of making it to the finals.
