Ma Long crashes to defeat against Chuang Chih-Yuan

World No. 2, Ma Long faced a stunning 0-4 loss to Chuang Chih-Yuan in the World Cup Table Tennis group stages. The tournament is being held at Liverpool, England.
In other significant results, Michael Maze took revenge over Ovtcharov (who won the bronze medal there).

Soumyajit wins a Table Tennis double at Jodhpur

Soumyajit won a creditable double crown at the Central Zone National Table Tennis Championship at Jodhpur. In the Men's final, he beat Sanil Shetty in a closely fought encounter. In the youth final, it was a smoother ride, where he beat Harmeet Desai. Another London Olympian, Ankita Das won the Youth girls finals. K Shamini bagged the women's singles title beating giant killer Manika Batra.

Champions league Table Tennis - Werder Bremen and Borussia Dusseldorf win

Werder Bremen and Borussia Dusseldorf both won their second group matches in the Champions League Table Tennis (Tischtennis) Championships. Both the teams that compete in the Bundesliga are on course to move to the quarterfinals.

Chuang Chih Yuan of Taiwan, who has just recently joined Bremen was the hero against UMMC Verkhnyaya Pyshma (formerly UMMC Ekaterinburg). Dusseldorf squeaked past SVS Lower Austria. European Table Tennis star Timo Boll won both his matches, while Patrick Baum won the other singles.

Ochsenhausen, however, faced their first defeat against ASTT Chartres of France 1-3. Former Olympic Champion and new recruit Ryu Seung Min of South Korea lost both his matches.

FC Saarbrücken TT plays Fakel Orenburg. German star Ovtcharov, who won an unprecedented two medals at the Olympics, will turn out for Fakel Orenburg.

Bristol Academy Table Tennis Club Coaching Camp

A Junior Coaching camp is being organized by the Bristol Academy Table Tennis Club in September-October. The coaching will be run by qualified UKCC coaches and academy members. Entry fee is three Pounds.

Lee Bee Wah elected as Singapore Table Tennis Association President again

Lee Bee Wah was re-elected at the Biennial General Meeting as the President of the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA). This particular term lasts until 2014.

Ms. Lee has held the office from 2008.

During her stint as the STTA president, Singapore has won medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, defeated China to win the 2010 World Team Championships.

Low Yen Ling will be the deputy president.

2012 North American Teams Table Tennis Championships

Baltimore, MD will see some world class Table Tennis action on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of 2012 JOOLA North American Teams Table Tennis Championships.

Chen Weixing, Daniel Habesohn, Joerg Rosskopf, and Liu Song will be the team to beat. Weixing is an Olympian with huge experience. He plays defense on his backhand and offense on his forehand. Habesohn is ranked in the top 100 in the World Rankings. Rosskopf needs no introduction. In addition to his medals in the Olympics, he was the coach of the medal winning German team at this year's London Olympics. He also made sure that he guided Ovtcharov to a record medal in the individual competition.

Zhang Jike awarded lavish gift for Olympic gold medal

London Olympic gold medallist, Zhang Jike has been given a home of 120 sq meters with a sea view in the coastal city of Qingdao.

Jike not only won the Gold medal but helped his team to the team gold, although he lost his singles match to Timo Boll.
